Psychotherapy Referrals for Your Patients
Beaches Mental Health provides psychotherapy and counselling for adults and youth in Toronto and virtually across Ontario. Here's what you need to know before referring.

Registered psychotherapists and registered social workers practising under the standards of their Ontario college.

Secure video sessions across Ontario; other provinces coming soon.
Fees
$185 CAD per 50-minute individual session. Psychotherapy is not covered by OHIP; many extended health plans include coverage and we provide receipts.
First step for the patient
A first appointment with a registered clinician, usually within one week.
Paperwork
No formal referral letter is required. A patient's name, contact details and consent are enough to begin.
Appropriate referrals
- Anxiety, panic and worry
- Depression and low mood
- Trauma and PTSD (CBT)
- Stress and occupational burnout
- Grief and bereavement
- Relationship difficulties
- Life transitions, including illness and caregiving
- Youth and teen counselling (ages 12–19)
Not appropriate for our service
- Patients in acute crisis or requiring urgent psychiatric assessment
- Active suicidal intent requiring immediate intervention
- Care requiring medication management or a physician diagnosis
We are not a crisis service. For urgent situations, patients should call 9-1-1, attend the nearest emergency department, or call or text 9-8-8.
What happens after you refer

Use our referral form, or give your patient our details and let them contact us directly.
- 2We contact the patient
We reach out to answer questions and arrange a first appointment.
- 3We match the clinician
Based on the presenting concern, preferred format, schedule and areas of practice.
- 4Continuity of care
With the patient's written consent, we can provide brief updates to your office.
Privacy and consent
Please obtain your patient’s consent before sharing their contact information with us, and send only what we need to make contact. Our online referral form is not the place for clinical records, assessments or detailed history — that information should follow a signed release after intake.
We handle personal health information in line with Ontario’s PHIPA and Canada’s PIPEDA. For anything you’d prefer not to send through a web form, email info@beachesmentalhealth.ca or fax (416) 925-7102.
